With the cost of post-secondary education rising, more students are finding alternative ways to pay for tuition.
According to the SeekingArrangement, these university students are using “the world’s largest sugar daddy dating site” to fund their education.
“With total debt in Canada of nearly $ 30 billion and an average postgraduate debt of over $ 25,000, Canadian students have chosen a unique way to fund their tuition – sugar dating,” a press release said.
Two institutions in British Columbia made the list this year: the University of British Columbia (UBC) on the 17th and Simon Fraser University (SFU) on the 19th. According to the SeekingArrangment, UBC currently has 71 student members, while SFU has 63.
On average, students receive a monthly allowance of $ 2,400, including networking opportunities and career or business benefits, according to SeekingArrangement.
“According to a recent report from Statistics Canada, one in two Canadian students has a college degree. It makes sense that the number of college sugar babies searching for sugar daddies on SeekingArrangement has increased nearly 3% year over year, ”their website says.
SeekingArrangement publishes its annual ranking of the fastest growing Sugar Babies Schools. These are the universities in Canada where the most students registered for the site in 2020.
